MD Anderson Proton Therapy Center, Houston, Texas
MD Anderson sought to enhance its capacity for treating cancer patients while incorporating the latest proton therapy technology from Hitachi. To achieve this, a new Proton Therapy Center was designed as an addition to the existing proton treatment building.
The new two-story facility is centered around four full-size proton gantries, two of which feature CT on rails within the treatment rooms. The new and existing buildings are seamlessly connected by a pedestrian footbridge, unifying them as a single operation.
Together, these structures create the largest proton therapy center in the world, further solidifying MD Anderson’s standing as a global leader in cancer treatment.
Project location: Houston, Texas
